Hello, A friend gave me a knife to sharpen for him and I havent heard of the maker before. Its made by Bowen Blades, The logo is those words forming a oval with WV in the middle and the other side of the blade has a stylized JB, I assume the innitials of the maker.
It has about a 3 in. blade, laminate wood handle and a nice leather sheath. Nice little belt knife, well put together.

Any info would be great, blade steel, approx. age, anything i can tell the guy about it

I believe Bowen Knives was mentioned over in the Traditional section (with some good opinions, as I looked for them for a bit).

Thanks everyone, sorry I'm not setup for pics quite yet but you guys led me to the info I was looking for. If anyone is in the market for a hunter or a small utility knife, I would really take a look at these knives. I am very impressed with the quality and the fit and finish. I still dont know what the steel is yet but when I find out I'll post it.

I had a Bowen folder a lo-o-o-ong time ago, slim, don't know what the steel was, stainless, quite nicely made. Only had carborundum hones back then and I wore the blade down through sharpening until the point protruded when closed. Bowen used to make stuff like belt buckle knifes.

In case you missed it, posting dates are at the upper left corner of the individual post........Necro post from 17 years ago.....

I am so glad someone resurrected this post. I forgot where I left it. Yes I am a time knife traveler.
