Can anyone identify this knife?

I bought this knife and I am trying to identify its origin if its even possible.
 
Meat server knife....carve a slice of ham, prime rib, roast beast and the two prongs on the end help the server to land it on your plate. Not so rare but more of a knife used where there would be a meat carving station like at a banquet or buffet restaurant.
 
This knife was described as :
"A wood handled, stainless steel made in japan "Fish" knife. I don't know if it actually made for serving a fish...but it is shaped like a fish! From it's wood, forked handle to it's forked stainless steel tip with a hole "eye" it is 12 " long. The bottom part of the blade is wavy and it is stamped 'Stainless Japan" " Pat. No. 219282"

Allegedly from the 1960s, it sold online back in 2012. It looks like the exact same knife as the photo is the same as
the one you have. Not really sure exactly what it is though, I intially thought a smoked salmon slicer because of the
fish theme but the blade seems awfully thick for the purpose. If it were small, I'd guess a cheese knife, as they sometimes have tips like that.

Its anyone's guess at the moment,
But seeing that it's general profile resembles that of a fish...
It's entirely possible that it's some fad of japanese styled fishtail cutlery
For dealing with fish preparation or something thereof.
Just my guess perhaps grilled fish or seafood even?

holy crap... Scale that thing down, put micarta grips on it, and that would be a HELL of a shank... Itd be like spydercos reverse S profile, but instead of being a potent slasher, itd be a potent shivver!
 
Nope, not a Japanese knife design for fish. Trust me I own multiple Japanese cooking knives just for fish alone.
A really unusual shaped western knife likely a 1960s Seki (or Tsubame) product for export to
the U.S. If we could trace that patent number we'd find the American knife company.
All the blade says is "Stainless Japan" and the Patent number under it.
The other side of the blade has no writing at all.

There's one on ebay right now under "12 Inch Stainless Japan Fish Design Knife Wood Handle ".
That has more photos of this knife.

Another crazy idea...might be a "fishing knife". The blade is actually a scaler, and that split tip is a hook remover.
 
I've got one just like it, got it from my mom...she used it all the time when I was growing up.

They just called it "The Fish Knife" because of the way it looks, not because it's for fish. The bottom of the blade works great for slicing meat, the tip for serving meat, and the small serrations on the back were supposedly for separating joints when used on chicken or turkey. The hole in the blade was just for hanging it near your work area on a cup hook to keep it out of the way.

It is darn sharp on the scalloped edge, and it works great, but I think the shape was more of a novelty than anything else.
