Here's a bit of trivia for you:
The tactical knife in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and 3 is actually the Blackhawk Tatang. Surprisingly they do a lot of research on real CQC weapons for their games. Just like in Call of Duty Black Ops the tomahawk was based off of a Strider design if I am not mistaken.

True but I wonder how much research was put into actually using the weapons. There's one part in the game where your weapon's electronics go down so you lose the sight on your acog. Acogs don't use electricity. Furthermore, even if they did why didn't the developers allow the iron sights that were clearly visible on the weapons to be flipped up and used. At the end of the day you can only get so much realism from a game or a movie.
