Camera angle makes it look longer than it is (but it still is a big knife). I have seen ones like it on ebay. They are made in the orient (China, Pakistan, Korea, India, pick one), and imported to the States, I'm sure. I think it is called, "The Shark", or "Mako", IIRC. It is an all purpose ,fighting, wood cutting, fishing, machete type blade. Made in 440.Look around on ebay.

The t-shirt lettering looks Thai, not Chinese.

I remember seeing that photo in the paper. (I remember because the pommel hole and adjacent 2 holes look like a happy face)

Since it is an overseas production knife, I don't think it could be easily linked to a maker.
