Two listings for the same knife. This one just completed: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6637854476&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

This one is still listed: http://cgi.ebay.com/Buck-110-Elk-St...ryZ63792QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I think Ark just raised his price to $139 from $129. And based upon the previous sale, that appears to still be quite a bargain.

Or is it?

Do ebay buyers place a premium upon who the seller is

I've been following his listings and it appears that any items listed by James Parker demand a premium compared to comparable items from other sellers.

I wonder if I can get him to sell some of my items on consignment? Based upon the example above, almost a $100.00 premium over a comparable listing for the same item, I'd be happy to give him $30.00 an item. :D

Hmmmmm....well all I can say is that if you buy if from cabela's its much cheaper. I wa slooking at my catalog the other day and I beleive it was around 100.00, or just under?

Oh, by the way, it wont be James Parker, it will be his son "buzz" you deal with. Jim passed away last year. If you do deal with him, just be "cautious".

Thanks....BTW, I don't believe that it is available at Cabela's any longer.
I already have one in my collection anyway along with the matching Vanguard model.
I sometimes just watch the listings for things I already have, just to get a feel for their market value. At least the market on ebay.

I had noticed James Parkers auctions too. I sent a question regarding "Jim's" passing and "James" is indeed his son. His reply was that "everybody calls me James, and they called my dad Jim".

Interesting observation about his auctions fetching high bids compared to others.

Mostly I had seen Bulldog Brand knives which is owned by Parkers.

Hello! I think the difference is one is at auction and one is buy it now.
People get caught up in a "bidding war." Either that or they dont do a search in peoples EBAY STORES. I have bought knives from both sellers. Arksknives is a great seller and very honest! "James Parker" also always follows through.
Me personally- I would buy the one from Arksknives! Cabelas is now sold out so if you do want that knife it probably will command a premium price!
Good luck.
Jim

some times it is a decated buyer and the seller does make a difrence. i will not bid as high on a new or unknown seller at all. i buy from ark and he deals fairly and fast.. i don tnow the other guyjest that i have thought of askign him to sell some of mine for comision as he gets so much more...
