i would like to anadize some aluminum liners. i have no clue on where to start.
if you can help i would like to know what materials and the steps in doing this procces. i read in a book at the local libary about coloring aluminum with house hold chemicals and die. i tried this with no sucess.

Anodizing aluminum is pretty complicated. Requires an acid medium (I think), and electrodes, then some nasty dies. Basically the electricity and acid creates pores in the surface of the aluminum, then the dye actually colors it. I took a metalworking class in college (art) and they had huge troughs for anodizing aluminum. If I knew then what I know now, I would've taken a lot more of the metal arts classes, but that's life! But, anodizing aluminum is a totally different animal than titanium. Ti can be done with electricity or heat. If you google "how to anodize aluminum at home" or something along those lines you'll find tons and tons of info.

aluminum liners for my next folder i found a paint ball website that has instructions for anodizing with sulfuric acid and ritz die a batter charger and boiling water. im in the proccess of doing it right now but it dosent show much prommiss
