I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything at all on this Camillus knife. Camillus-7.75-Barbarian-Fixed-Blade-Knife-with-Kydex-Sheath-1095-High-Carbon-Steel-Micarta-Handle.
This knife was added to walmarts website recently and I have not been able to find it anywhere else which is why I would like some more info on it or possibly a review if anyone owns it.

I am curious about this knife but this would be my most expensive knife purchase (I tend not to spend more than $50 on a single knife). So if anyone has info on this knife I would greatly appreciate it.

Well I am trying to keep my eye out for a EDC fixed and folding knife. But I have a small collection of knives started and I like collecting knives that are designed to be used. 7 of my current 43 knives in my collection are from Camillus and 3 are fixed. The knives I have from the company I find to be decent knives and so when I saw this I was curious about it. I usually tend to carry a folding knife on me but I do enjoy carrying a fix knife as well. I right now currently use a Sog trident I carry around for work, but when I am off work I have been carrying around a S&W folding knife I picked up recently and I love it. And I also have been wanting to get my hands on US made knives.

So if this 1 is not recommended does anyone have any recommendations as to what knife I should get (especially if this knife isn't worth the price tag) (However I am an employee at my local Walmart so I do get a 10% discount :D)

in that price range, or near it, i'd look at the following in decending order

Scrapyard knives
ESEE knives
Becker knives

similar price, better knife Scrapyard 711

I guess a lot depends on where you would be carrying an EDC fixed blade (around town, in the woods, etc)...but a nice little fixed blade for "around town" that people rave about is the ESEE Izula, which will set you back only around 60 bucks.

Or for about 90 bucks, you could get a Fallkniven WM1, which is heck of a nice little fixed blade.

Can anyone tell me about the ESEE Izula??? Also I like the looks of the the Scrapivore from the scrapyard company but is that the only website you can order it from??? (Sorry I am always a bit paranoid of ordering from random websites)

there's nothing at all random about the scrapyard. You can get 500 references from bladeforums.

They are are reputable as you can get...

anything ESEE gets my  and you can get a scrapivore from the busse sales subforum

[Please do not link to sales in the discussion forums]

i'd to with the yard every time, but i'm biased

Anything Jerry Busse has a hand in gets my vote...

but pick the one that most closely matches your needs. They're both top shelf knives and they'll both give you more knife that you need in a blade that size

Thanks I went ahead and ordered the Scrapivore and I like the factor the sheath was able to be ordered in a lefty version :D I will be looking forward to getting this knife and judging by the pictures it is a real beauty. Now I am hoping that this knife will fix my EDC fixed knife wants now to just locate a nice folder.

Busse are about the most respect boutique knife maker; Swamp Rat is one of their two more sanely priced sub-brands. Quality is very high and their reputation and warranty are outstanding. TOPS (who may have manufactured that "Schrade") are, well, sort of the official brand of Internet survivalist fantasists and people who think WWF matches are real sporting events...
