IIRC it was his own design. I believe the notch near the handle was for a ferro rod.

outdoorsfan got it right, it was his own design. Those "sawteeth" were all hand filed. I`ve done three knives with sawteeth, never again!

Any idea on the blade and handle length? I like the design, especially the handle.

They were 4" - 4 1/2" each.

The saw teeth work like a charm. John nailed this design for me. I use it a lot. Probably a KILLER on his hands to do the teeth though.

That one was 1/8" thick, but I also made one 3/16" thick.
