I got my chive today, but the tention appears to be set a little loose and the blade is grinding into the handle when you open and close it. It has already scratched the blade up a little:( and I want to get a bit that can adjust it. Anyone know the proper size?

I'm not sure, but if the T8 doesn't fit, try the T6. T6 should be available in electronics stores.

I highly recommend picking up some good Torx drivers. They are a must for us knife-knuts. Some really good quality drivers can be had from:

www.wihatools.com

They'll also send you a real nice tool catalog.

thanks guys.

I was going to go buy a set at radio shack but I went online first to check if they ahd them. They are completely sold out. Tomorrow I'll take a trip to home depot and pick up a set.

Benchmade makes a decent item called the "Blue Tool" or something like that. It has all the Torx wrenches for all my knives. I've stripped some of them by turning them too hard. I don't know if I can blame Benchmade for that though because I've done the same to one of my Craftsman torx drivers.

Just be careful with the smaller ones. I learned the hard way that they don't need to be anywhere NEAR as tight as you think they do in order to stay in place and do their job.

I've learned to take it easy on cranking those tiny pocket-clip-sized ones down and just get them a little snug and they work just fine.

fulloflead: on the contrary, I got this T6 screwdriver that likes to strip screws than screwing itself up.
I suppose BM and Craftsman didn't harden the bits enough?

FullofLead, do aserach on the blue box, youll see that it isnt really that good of a product. Ive seen the black versions at a dollar store but it wasnt the same price as the blue one hense the name
"benchmade"

But I had to take apart my Chive a few weeks ago, the spring broke!

While closing it had very little fire to it, only went half way, while tweaking with it with oil. Then closed it, I heard the snap. But now I own a manual chive, I have to find some free time to email Kershaw Ived scanned a picutre of the spring ony holding together by a .mm or so of spring steel, im sure theyll replace it I only owned it for about 3 months.

I REALLY like the look of the new T6 anodised verions.:)
