Can anyone tell me why my thread is not being bumped to the top??

Doesn't make a lot of sense...but then I don't make the rules:)

The rule and change in order formatting (and some other rules) was made in response to people (including one serial offender in particular*) making arbitrary posts to bump their FS post to the top. Heck, I was guilty of this too - posts like "price drop" or "email received". The "problem" is that there's so much traffic on this site that a FS post made in the morning can easily get buried on page 2 or 3 by the evening, and with everybody else bumping their listings, one had to play just as dirty to keep things "fair" to them.

This way is fair to everybody.

It also requires far, far less moderation. Other sites might have a once-per-day or once-per-X-days bump rule, but that means that some poor sap has to constantly check every listing to make sure the seller isn't abusing the system.

*This particular seller, who is banned here, would have upwards of a couple dozen or more listings, and they'd all get bumped at the same time, meaning the first page of FS listings would be almost entirely his listings.

Thanks Planterz...your comment about less moderation makes perfect sense. I was thinking that threads would get bumped very little by buyers vs. the seller who starts the for sale thread. But probably no good way to keep the seller from bumping, yet allowing the buyer(s) to bump...without excessive moderation. I'm sure this has been debated at length...so I appreciate your weighing in on this:thumbup:

I had no idea the rule had changed. Now that I know I will cease and desist
Thanks for the heads up

Since all Exchange threads follow this rule, if you have followed the current threads, you will only be interested in the new threads -- which will always be on top of the first page, easy to find.

What about older threads you want to follow? Simply subscribe to them. Any time the OP posts a change, adds a new knife, or a price drop, it will show up on your Settings page, which is my first stop when I log in.
