And don't worry, I already own a Mini Grip, Delica 4, Leek, etc. I'm just looking for a solid little (Under 3" blade) to beat on for super cheap.

The Spyderco Byrds are as good. Not sure that they're better.

Fixed I would think a mora has high regrades. Folder...Maybe not, depending on users intent. A .99 cent box cutter is quite effective.

I like my Opinel knife better than the Ka-Bar Dozier folder.
Bought a Victorinox Recruit last week at Lowe's and the quality is superb. It only cost $13.

I wouldn't "beat on" any of my knives, if you meant that literally. Take care of your stuff, and practically any pocketknife can last indefinitely. :)

I love my Dozier, just a tough little knife. A close second in that range would be my Kershaw Half Ton. My only complaint with it is that it only comes in red. I paid almost 18$ for my Dozier, 11$ for the Half Ton.

I got a kershaw oso sweet for $23 shipped, and I really like it. cheapest AO ever I think, still decent quality

I never owned the Dozier altho I have handled it and it did feel solid...my friend does love it.
But there sure are alternatives for cheap and solid knives under 20 usd.
The Kershaw Half Ton is a solid knife (and yes, I hate the red handle too, but somehow it adds some charm to a cheap knife to look kinda trashy), and so is the Sanrenmu 710 (I own both). And having handled and used it, I can assure u that the Byrd Robin is a solid knife too.
I have a friend who swears on his Boker Bulldog too....
Anyway, if u are looking for a blade to beat on, maybe a fixed blade would serve u better...it all depends on what use u need it for.

Doziers are great and so are the Byrds. Can't argue with either as a best value. Don't have personal experience with any others that good at that price.

I am a big fan of the Dozier folders, too. They seem to get the QC right regularly on the ones I own and have seen which says a lot for such a low-cost knife. I don't know that they would take a ton of abuse, but they weren't designed to. They all come very sharp with terrific and even grinds, lock up nice and tight, blades center very well, everything just seems done right with them. The heat treat seems really good, too as they take and hold an edge very well in my opinion. I like the smaller ones with the thumb studs the best.

The only thing I've tried as cheap that I would say is as good or better would be Victorinox SAKs. Fit and finish is almost always superb but some times you do see them packaged with scratched handles. Most people want one handed opening and pocket clips though and would probably prefer a Dozier Folding Hunter.

Later this year Kershaw will have the larger Ton, which will will be black, according to the maker's photos.

Love my Dozier but the Sanrenmu 710 has it beat for quality.

The 710 is smoother opening and closing, holds an edge a little better and has absolutely zero play in any direction.

kershaw chill is around $16 and its pretty awsome for the price, kershaw skyline around $25 and rocks for edc

I've never handled a Ka-Bar Dozier, so i can't really recommend relative to that.

I can also vouch for the quality of the 710. It's shocking how fast it opens and how smooth...and a 'for the price' rider need not be applied as people often do when speaking of inexpensive knives. Just plain impressive quality period. The 763 is also pretty sweet, notworthy relative to the 710 for being much lighter, and tip up carry.

Also for that matter they Spyderco Byrds...which Sanrenmu also makes, but most of those are over $20, though still very worthwhile.
