Can (gold) members now remove their ads?

I saw that somebody had closed an ad, deleted his content, and reposted within an hour. I checked his posts again, and there was no sign of it...but when I backed up enough times I found the page again and it said deleted.
Obviously, the mods can delete them; but they don't typically make closed ads disappear. Probably wishful thinking on my post that deleting ads is now an option. Wouldn't be the only surprise I've found since I came back; but it would be a nice one

Doesn't sound right...but the original ad is gone, and it isn't shown in the member's "message" (aka posts) history. I would have understood if, perhaps, there was a rule violation.

I think the forum software automatically deletes duplicate threads. A second thread identical to the first could be deleted, even if the content of the original was changed at a later time.

I've seen it happen numerous times where I'd get notifications (both forum and email) over and over and over from someone posting a FS thread but there'd be no thread when I'd try to view it.

Sometimes the spam filter will catch dup postings and automatically remove them from view. Sometimes we'll move them to the back end away from public view

Would that apply to a thread in which another member had posted? This wasn't a classic double post... The seller closed his ad after another member posted in it, then reposted a short time later. For a brief time; both ads were visible, then the original (with the other member's post) was gone. I was able to find it, using the back button; but the title now read Deleted instead of Closed...and when I clicked on it, I received a message indicating that I couldn't access it (don't remember the exact wording)

It depends. Since you can't tell me any actual information that I can use to track it down, I have absolutely no clue who or what thread you are referring to. Non-mods do not have the ability to delete entire threads.
