Can I adjust this myself?

Just got a CUDA Maxx (original style). The blade is off-center towards the non-lock side. The lock bar goes all the way over the tang. It locks up so tight I have to pry it open to close it! I wanted a strong lock, but I'd like to be able to close it without mechanical assistance also....:D

If I take it apart and bend the bar back a little will this also take care of the off-center blade? Do you think it will still lock up tightly? Will this void the warranty?

Thanks.

Pachucko,
this one is really difficult to diagnose thru the computer screen! First off, let me say that we will be glad to checkout/adjust/repair your knife if you wish to send it in to us. Second, if you think that you can achieve this yourself, don't worry, it won't "viod your warranty" or anything like that. If you simply want to take a little pressure off the lock bar, and you feel competent in doing this, go right ahead. Even if after you do this, you still aren't happy, we will still warranty the knife.

If you would like to discuss this further, please send me an email with your phone number,a nd i'll be glad to call you!

Dang...You tinker with the knife, and if that doesn't work-out, send it in and it's still covered under warranty...That's a warranty that's pretty tough to beat!

That is REALLY amazing! This is one of the main reasons I purchased 2 BK&T knives recently. In this age of 'if you look at it sideways it may void the warranty' it's really great to have a knife which should it ever fail (un-friggin-likely) that the company stands behind it 100% not to mention direct axcess to a real person to answer real questions. Amazing!

You guys are a real class act.

Thanks Will,

-John
