Can I become a Moderator?

Seems like the Mods (but not the Rockers), can often be overcome with work on BF. Perhaps someone could weigh in on how someone like me - not in the biz - could become a BF Moderator. Thanks...;-)
 
you have to prove that you can avoid arguments even when you want to really come down on someone like a sledge hammer(I fail here). you have to spend lots of time at odd hours and you probably need to be an established loyal member of the forum and someone has to like you enough to think you can be a good even tempered moderator.
 
I agree with cobalt.
If you become a moderator, you have to be "moderate". That's no fun.
I have excessive responsibility in real life as it is, better just to have fun here.

I think "wanting" to become a Mod automatically disqualifies you. :p That's a thankless job, I'm not even sure I'd want it if they paid me.
 
Thanks for the thoughtful replies, folks. Curiosity mainly. And don't know if it's such a tough position that BF might always be looking for new recruits. Might be worth a try, and would certainly consider it...;-)

You have my vote, anybody with an ASH collection like yours can't be half bad.

I'm a mod on a different forum and as long as ppl are grown up you don't do much but move things around and edit stuff.
 
I think the Busse forum would be one of the easiest to moderate here on BF. It is not often that there is any "pooping in hand and slinging at crowd" and most arguments are brought back on track easily enough.

I would not do the job for love nor money !!!!

It is again these days, and I'm glad to see a return of better times to the forum after darker days past. :)

As for those who wanna be a mod, think of it like this... Ever watch Cops? The domestic dispute where both parties turn on the LEO's? Now imagine being armed with only infraction cards and the much eating of carp no matter who is wrong & who is right. :D ;)

Enjoy the hobby & the camaraderie here and respect each other. That is the Moderators' reward. :)

I wonder if there is a minimum post requirement to qualify, or a minimum collection size!? :p Ducking now... :o
