A rat pack kit with out the knife? I ordered a RC6 an sheath for 160$ with shipping and the kit is 187$ with knife! Anybody know the answer?

Thanks

Can I buy the Black ESEE 5 with a partially serated blade, I think it used to be called the RC-5 SERE.
I will second that request abobe. I'd like to be able to by the Rat Pack sans knife, unless of course they offer the RC-5 SERE.

The knife is availiable serrated. But not with the kit. I believe it only comes with plain edge blades.

They have said it is not availiable as just a pack.

I have recently ask to Mike about buying the bag only and it's still true, you gotta pick between a 5P or a 6P.

I received my pack yesterday in Canada, with a 6P..
So lightweight when you are used to hold a 5

To go into a bit more detail...
The only way ESEE can sell the kits at a decent price is as a combo.
This is why it is only available direct from ESEE.
By buying direct you get the knife (~$125), Fire Kit (~$30), Alok Sacks (~$10), Ranger Bands, Diamond hone (~$20). So they have cut the prices on EVERYTHING in the kit to be able to offer it at that price. If purchased seperately it would probably cost you as much as the knife itself.

Correct me if I have anything wrong guys!

SERE is a copyrighted name so ESEE doesnt use that anymore. The ESEE 5 is avaikable with serrations and its the same knife.

Makes sense, I canceled my order of the RC-6p an will be ordering a tan ESEE Kit with a sheath also.

Lost Mountain lists the empty pack for $115 on their website - no steel, firekit, etc... but they can put a scabbard in it that will fit the ESEE3 or 4 rather than the -5 or -6.

if the packs 115...you're getting a $140 retail, ~200 MSRP knife for about $70, a firekit, and a hone.

yup - and that's why I oredered one last night, rather than following a buddy's suggestion I "make my own".
