Can I carry a sub 2" microtech double action in LA county?

Well it's a simple question. Also what are the laws in regards to blade lengths in Los Angeles
It is my understanding that you can carry any auto knife in Los Angeles as long as the blade is shorter than 2". I did a search of LA laws and they don't have any laws specific to autos. Therefore state law applies. And state law says that autos with blades under 2" are legal to carry (openly or concealed).

In regards to blade length limit- Los Angeles municipal code section 55.10 says that knives carried OPENLY must have blades UNDER 3" in length (this applies to ALL knives). There are exemptions to this law- if you are carrying your knife for work, or for legitimate recreational purposes like fishing, camping, etc, then there is no length limit on openly carried blades.

But if you are going to openly carry a knife with a blade 3" or longer in LA, you had better be able to PROVE that you are carrying it for work, fishing, etc. For example- if you are openly carrying a knife with a 4" blade, and it's your day off from work, then you will be lying to the cops if you tell them that you are carrying it for work. This may seem like a small, harmless lie, and people might think "The cops will never know", but telling even a small lie to the cops can get you into a lot of trouble later on if you are arrested. And if you are arrested and charged with carrying an illegal weapon (over-sized knife) don't be surprised if the cops get ahold of your work schedule from your boss. Never underestimate the cops ability to find stuff out.

In contrast, it is perfectly legal to carry CONCEALED any size manual-opening folder in LA. Just be sure to carry it deep in your pocket and don't use the pocket clip as some cops, and some prosecutors, might consider that "openly carried". And you don't want to have to find out what a jury thinks.

It is completely illegal to carry any fixed-blade concealed in LA regardless of blade length.
