Can I customize my becker knife?

Hi all,

:D. It's me again..

I was wondering if there is anything, other than adding handle-scales or
para-cord wrapping, that I can do to my bk-11. Now that I've learned to properly work with carbon-steel, I'm not afraid to use it. I also threw away that little kydex sheath. I honed it to a razor's edge last night...now my face
is bald again..my arm too :D And I sliced up a catalog or two..& some old magazines..& some old bills..& a pizza box..& couple big slim-jims..then I honed it back--pretty easy :D. Good knife & fun to play with! I won't throw it..again..only did one time. Didn't miss either.

But, anyway, I've seen pics of modified beckers, & I saw some nice stuff. I just wanted some simple modifications I can do. I'm sure alot of you you becker-fans out there have alot of ideas. :) Thanks for any help. Oh..what're
the notches on the end for? I know it has a lanyard hole..or two, but I can't
figure out hose notches.

Thanks,

Bored-2-Deth

Wire breaker and bottle opener, I believe. The notches on the end, that is.

I was thinking of adding some jimping on the spine for control. Or you could cut a circular notch or square the spine so you can strike a ferro rod

Yup, bottle opener/wire breaker, in that order.

I like to strip mine, and square the spine. It makes a better firesteel striker, and a scraper for natural tinder.

If goinggear would get those durn Aerowave whistles back in stock, I'd place an order with them.

Yeah those things are some serious earbusters. I've got about 3 or 4 of them around here somewhere. Damn rape whistles if you ask me.

To the OP: you can mod the hell out of your Becker's. Strip 'em, put a patina on 'em, make some custom scales for 'em, you name it.

There are a lot of folks around here who simply use a new Becker as a canvas, and make them their own! i say go for it!

Moose: I love that pic with you slingin' some sparks! Great shot!!

I shall now call Moose 'Sparky' in honor of this!

I've been thinking about stripping my Eskabar, then doing an etch. I've been reading about using certain chemicals to get some cool patterns. Most seem toxic, so I need to do it outside, and carefully. Anybody etch a Becker yet?

How did you wrap the handle with the center line? I always thought some other examples of cord wrapping looked tacky, but that brother is pure sex on a platter.
