Was wondering if I could drill a lanyard hole in my Spydie Moran? Sure do need one!
Would use a precision drill press. I know it would void the warranty, but hey,in 15yrs. I've never had call to use a Spydie warranty anyway

Bartman - Shouldn't be a problem. Stay to the back 1-1/2". The handle is Grivory. Should drill OK. Try not to drill between the hard and soft plastic. You may need to chamfer the hole as these hi tech plastics can be sharp and you wouldn't want to cut the lanyard. Let me know how she goes.

Since we are on the subject, how much tang is in the Moran handle?

Related question, how tough is the handle if using this as a utility/camp knife? [The reason behind the question. It would be a good, light, incredibly sharp, knife for the typical low impact (to nature) hiker or backpacker who would normaly use the knife lightly, but if the going got tough....]

Donald - the tang goes back about 3/4 of the handle and is notched. the handle is injected onto the tang. I think you'd be hard pressed to pull the blade out or break the handle even if you tried.
