Getting ready to buy but I continually read that this series either ships with or quickly develops blade play.
Is this in fact correct information.
Thanks

In my experience, most SOG folders have had blade play. The higher end ones, though, like the Tomcat or Stingray were fine.

Thanks guys for the honest answers. Kinda throws a wet blanket on my desire to own these. Too bad it is a cool design.

So here is my question: Why can't they address the issue? Why can't they fix the problem. These models have been produced for quite some time. A $40 knife SHOULD NOT have blade play. It's a flaw in the design right.....so fix it!

My flash II developed blade play quickly, I would agree with the rest of the opinions

yep, expect it. It's why I don't buy sog knives anymore. a 60 aegis shouldn't have bladeplay but mine's terrible. Especially when I can buy several spydercos for less money that have no problems at all.

I think they don't care, honestly. I've heard several people don't have problems with them, so maybe they have spotty quality control. I'd buy something else, kershaw has several flipper models that would work better.

In my experience, only the assisted folders have blade play. I mean come on, if the pivot screw was too tight then the coil spring wouldn't have enough space to move freely...
All of their Arc-Lock folders have had no blade play. I use to EDC a Vulcan, i've owned it for 8 months and it STILL has no blade play. Lock up and deployment are just as good as the first day I got it! I would recommend any of ther arc-lock folders over the assisted ones.

Definitely bladeplay in all the SOGs I own. But, hey, these things were probably designed for light tasks which is why I often supplement my Spydie with a SOG.

I have a number of the less expensive SOG folders and never had any blade play with any of them. The majority are AOs.
At least no play out of the box. Admittedly none have seen what I would consider heavy use.

I have two Twitch XLs and both are rock solid.

SOG DOG #2

My Tridents' and Aegis' AOs all developed blade play in short order. Even tightening the pivot didn't help.

Thanks everybody. It's a cool design BUT I think I'll pass on the Twitch till they can get it together and address this issue satisfactorily
