I have a ka-bar 2-3050-9 mule field folder and its treated me great in the year or so ive had it. Today i noticed the lockback was misaligned with the handle...sticking up from it when the knife is open and locked. The lock is still very strong and doesnt budge at all but the protruding lock bar worries me. If i squeeze the handle firmly it slightly disengages the lock causing some wiggle and worry. Does anyone know how or if its possible to fix this? Or should i try my hand at the most likely long and bothersome warranty process ka-bar has.

Im new to this forum so please forgive me when i ask how to put a picture up, as i realize its necessary for this question....Is it necessary for me to sign up to one of those url picture uploader websites or is there an easier way? If not can you recommend a site so i can get a picture up

I'd give Kabar customer service tomorrow. Their 800 # is on Kabar.com. Can't hurt to ask'em. I've never had to use a Kabar service warranty, but I've heard primarily good things about it.

Seems like it has screws. If you feel confident enough, you could try to take it apart, clean it, and put it back together.

If not, do as zzyzz suggests and call Kabar CS.

A good cleaning might be in order. Might be crud in the lock notch on the tang. I'm sure that's the exact correct term for the notch.....

It could be the pin needs to be pushed back, it lies just beneath the bar itself. The pin is a slender little bar of metal, which presses the lock into place once open. Id recommend sending it in for inspection.
