Can I fly with toothpicks?

I just bought a new pack of flavored toothpicks and I'd like to travel with them. Can I or will they get confiscated?

If they are serrated or over 3" forget it..

I would try q-tips..dip them in pizza sauce and your in for a tasty treat that is better tasting than the pretzels that they offer... :D

One hand opening, non metallic with ninja black.

I guess the answer is no.

I think it all depends on whether or not you are intending on poking out the eyes of several passengers. :D

Hang in there, Dave, eventually somebody who actually knows the answer will come along and post it....

Dave, just the fact that you would even think of asking this questions illustrates just how much sensibility our society has lost in these modern times.

Could you fly with toothpicks?

I guess you could if you glued them together to make a hang glider.

Off to Gadgets & Gear. :p :D Dammit moved it to the wrong forum.

You should be fine. . . .as long as you don't have a means of taping or gluing them together. . . .

I've flown both domestic and internationally with a small wooden tooth pick case filled with 6 - 8 fancy handled tooth picks... no problem. They don't read on the metal detectors so no one knows your carrying them.

I also have a 3" heavy needle in my wallet that has been scanned and searched dozens of times with out question.

Say, does anyone know if a spark rod/fire starter will go through a metal detector unseen?

Heh, we're having a great deal of fun with Dave's question, but I really don't think the answer is obvious. I've had a few toothpicks ("chewing sticks") in my bag with no problem. Honestly though, if I brought a whole box with me, and it was found in a search, I'd expect I might get hassled over it.
