Specifically, my Vallotton Sebenza...I really would like a damascus blade but I'm pretty sure CRK won't install one in my knife? Anyone have experience getting a Damascus blade installed in a modified knife? If I had a second Classic MM I would just have them do that on e up and swap the blades when I got it back, but this is my only CRK :(

I'm sure most of you have seen it before, but pics just in case ;)

Excellent craftsmanship on the conversion! Butch did an amazing job!
You have 2 gems Chip......that bad ass Seb and a wonderful wife for one of the most thoughtful gifts ever!!
Thanks for steering me to that thread!
First time in this sub......took the plunge yesterday, picked up a CF 25 off the Exchange.......aaaand my favorite dealer, Justin at White Mountain, e mailed me this morning with an offer on a Tanto 21 that I would've been silly to refuse! So I have my first 2 CRK knives on their way!!
The wait won't be that tough.......right???
:confused::confused:

CRK from what I understand will not touch a vallotton modified knife and vallotton at their request no longer does work on crks. The blades are fit individually so even if you could get one on another knife, it wouldn't necessarily fit yours due to slight variations in the fit up.

I understand it might need a little "adjusting", but I'm pretty handy with things like that ;).

Anybody have a Classic MM Damascus blade they don't love anymore? Or have a plain Classic MM and want to proxy for me, lol?

For that matter, does anyone know if they even reblade Classic MM's anymore?

They do replace blades on classics, at least according to their service form but they need you to send in the knife to fit the washers and the lockup. So they won't just sell you the blade. And if you buy a blade 2nd hand it may or may not fit your knife.

They won't replace anything on that one, due to the Vlatton conversion.

Being good at adjusting things is nice, but you can't add metal back to the blade lock face or lock bar. Keep in mind that if the blade you get does not have excess lock face material with respect to your lock bar, you may have sloppy or loose lockup.

When you get a blade replacement on a non modified knife, do they let you keep the original blade, too?

I had them replace the blade on my large MM and they returned the knife and the old blade.
