Can I get a long term opinion on the Pacific?

I'm going to ask in the general forum about a review on the Pacific because you guys might be a bit bias. Still, this is probably the place to ask about long term rigorous use. Anyone here have anything to report concerning that? Also have you ever sent it back to Idaho for any reason?

It's a CRK, it'll be just fine,

I’ve had my pacific for a couple years now. I take it camping every time I go, which is fairly often. Took it to the Arctic Ocean and back in the summer of 2019 and used it a tonne.

No complaints. Never sent it in for anything. The knife is way more ergonomic than it looks. The jimping can be a little aggressive on bare hands if you are using it for a long time, so it’s not a great choice for whittling without gloves.

It’s the perfect size and weight for a lot of camping tasks. Smaller than it looks in photos, which is good, but still a beast. Manufacturing quality is exceptional. Design is epic. Great large knife for large knife tasks. Edge holding is good and guncoat is surprisingly durable. Batons through wood with ease. In hand, you can imagine defending yourself with it without it slipping up and cutting your fingers, due to its healthy finger guard. Hard not to like this knife.

The pointy micarta edges around the lanyard hole I found to be a hotspot, so I rounded them a little with sandpaper to take the corners off. You can’t tell by looking at it that I made this small mod. So I guess I had that one complaint.

I don’t really care for the design of the low-hung sheath. It’s nicely made, but I’d like a sheath that puts the handle above the belt line.

Thanks so much for typing all this out. Really made it more positive in my eyes. It's not cheap, half of a month of rent, and a c more than a car payment, etc. I need to think hard about getting this one. Yes I've unloaded a good chunk of money on knives before but I already have an outdoors knife (schempp roc), just want one that isn't such a burden and still high quality with a design giving a healthy nod to a fighting knife.

No problem. Hope it works for you. Funnily, the Pacific is the one CRK knife I hesitated on for years and years. I was certain I would regret the purchase and it would feel terrible in hand compared to a Bark River Bravo 1.25 that I have and also love. Boy was I wrong. It has ended up being one of my favourite knives. I use it all the time. A true keeper.
