Can I get rid of the false edge?

I have a USMC fighting knife that came with a sharpened false edge. If someone owns this knife in a state where a false edge is illegal, is it possible to dull the false edge down so that it's not considered a false edge and would be legal?

I don't know what the law would think, but I would say if you took a die-grinder (or dremel) and ground perpendicular to the edge (so as to square it off) and ground it to a sufficiently blunt edge (easily visible to the naked eye) that should suffice. Do you plan on carrying this knife? I would think most states the forbid general carry of a double edge would also frown on carrying a combat knife around with you.

Nah, Massachusetts has a law against double-edged blades but no law against (unconcealed) fixed blade carry.
