I noticed somebody with a personalized serial number on his RAT Pack RC-3 knife.

'RAT Pack #8 Knife'
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=771858

His forum RAT Pack number is 8.bearthedog

Are those numbers the same on purpose? Talk about luck
I bought a RAT Pack knife from a fellow forum member and there is no serial number on the knife. Were there multiple rounds of RAT Pack knives over the years? I know the current RAT Pack number is 841. Surely most of those people did not get a corresponding serial number RAT Pack knife.

Were some RAT Pack knives sterile? (no serial number)

Onto the photos. Thanks for helping me with my question. :D

hi, the ratpack knives were done with your personal ratpack number on them, at the time there were many fewer members. they also made a few with no number. when they did them you had the option of buying 2 with your number.

take it easy

Gotcha.

That's awesome. I wish I was a long-term member and got my personal number :p

Thanks for the quick reply :)

I've still got mine, #118 still going strong. The ESEE blades are the only production knives I have kept (still have an izula, 2x3's, 4-, 6- and lite machete). Just published a you-tube vid about an hour ago where I used it to do a One-Hole bowdrill variant method.

Got my RP knife with my RP#44. I was lucky enough to score a HEST #44 as well. Missed out on the folder unfortunately :(

My understanding is there are 200 made.
160 were ordered with pack numbers on them and the remaining 40 were left unserialized.
After the nightmare the batch last year were for Mrs Shotty (and the trauma letting them all go was on her daughter) I doubt there will be more in the future.
OTOH, I would snap up an RP laser Strike II in a heartbeat!

One of the unwritten agreements made at the time of purchase was that if at any point a person decided they didn't want their pack knife for whatever reason, they contact Mrs S so it could go to a pack member off the waiting list with no markup.

Well Eric , if a RP Knife was needed to be sold they Contacted any MOD ,I have helped resale 6 this year alone :D

006 lives in my knife drawer. Since I already own a 3 that I've been beating up since the day I got it, my RP knife is more of a collector piece for me. If it weren't for already having a 3, though, I'd be beating the snot out of it right now! :D

Out of the 'many' knives I own, the Rat Pack #93 RC3 is one of three that I don't carry and just admire. All the other RAT's get used/abused in the course of life, since that's what they're made for!

Broke mine out for its first run last week and boy did it feel good to do it. I have been going back and forth trying to find a knife that felt good to use for my "urban bushcraft" and it feels like it may be the winner of what I currently have.
