Can I put a Scandi grind on a Ritter folder?

While working on some survival skills lately I was making fuzz sticks with a couple of Moras, a fullsize Ritter folder, and a big honkin' BK-7. Just like Mors Kochanski writes, it is a lot easier to get nice curls on the fuzz sticks with a Mora's Scandi grind.

For various reasons the Ritter folder will pack better for me than a Mora (this is for a somewhat small, pocketable kit), so is it reasonable to put a Scandi grind on a Ritter folder? I don't even know how to resharpen my Moras to their Scandi shape, so I have no idea if what I'm asking is possible.

I need to learn how to sharpen my Moras in the field but that's another topic.

When you think about it, a scandi grind is nothing more than a very thick V-grind bevel. If you sharpen your Ritter grip on a stone, you are putting the same V-grind bevel on it, but on a much thinner stock. As long as you use the same angle, the edge is the same between the two. But if you want the same thick V-grind bevel on the Ritter grip, you will have to grind back the edge all the way to the spine, removing most of the blade. Even if the scandi grind gives better curls on fuzz sticks (I would have to compare scandi to regular grinds side by side on the same piece of wood to see if this is true), the thinner edge bevel on the Ritter will give you much better overall cutting efficiency. It would be a shame to lose that by grinding enough off the blade to get to the thicker stock near the spine.
