I've just got my new INFI-coot few days ago.

VERY nice little knife, wicked sharp and well balanced.
But I prefer the look of satin finish.

I'm wondering if I could use acetone to remove the desert-coat off the same way I've just removed the black-coat off my Basic#3?

Thanks for all inputs. :D

Paint remover works for sure, not so sure about acetone though. But beware, I removed the finish off a Desert CT and got a surprise, evidently the desert coating requires a rough blade finish in order to bond to the metal. And when I say rough, I mean ROUGH, It took several minutes at the belt grinder and a lot of patience to get it somewhat smoothed out.

Sell that Coot and get a 101 steel model. Be a shame to strip a limited edition knife like that.
Just my thoughts.

Amen brother!

There are less than 200 of these.

Santi, I'll trade you even for my standard coot, if you still want to strip the coating.

Why go through all that, just use it until the finish wears off! :D

I thought like you. But I understand, Santi, he prefer to the Satin Finish more than the Coat. :D

The Bandicoot should reach here in next coupla weeks. Will decide what to do with this INFI-Coot, then. :D
