can I remove the handle overlays on a crkt my tighe?

I'm getting a crkt my tighe in a trade, and was wondering if I could take the zytel handle overlays off of it with out compromising the useability of the knife. I just don't like the look of the overlays, and I think that it would also make the knife thinner and easier to pocket. also, would removing the overlays effect my ability to use the pocket clip?

Figured i would comment since it was my knife:D

You can take them off without effecting the knife but you will have to grind down the tips of the pocket clip screws so they dont hit the blade when you put them in without the scales. It also has three cutouts on each side that lighten it up a bit and you can also see the torsion bar do its thing.
