A great picture of three great looking knives. There is such a smooth and refined look about them. Choosing among these would surely give me a headache.

I would say the same, but I actually chose quickly, easily and with confidence for my first. I wanted a CRK 1 piece, and I didn't want something very big. Something good for EDC or hiking. The Mountaineer I was the clear choice. I looked at the Shadow III also, but I liked the Mountaineer I blade shape and lack of double cross guard. With a smaller knife I like to be able to rest my thumb on spine grooves.
