Can I see some pictures of BK24's with a patina?

And an explanation of how you put it on there? I'm going to get my dad one for Christmas and I'm going to put a patina on it afterwards along with a cord wrap.

D2 doesn't really patina.

This. I've had mine since they came out and with regular use, it's not even forming a natural patina. It might be slightly darker than when I bought it, but it's hard to tell. If you are wanting to force one to protect the metal, I'd say it's not necessary. If you are doing it for aesthetics, then good luck!

The BK24 is D2 which is "semi-stainless" and won't easily develop a patina.

The BK14 is the same knife but in 1095CV which will take a patina but you'll have to strip the coating off first.

BTW, the BK24 comes with a nice stonewash finish that looks prettier in person than in pics.

Soaked it in vinegar/mustard solution for 3 days, over a year ago. Been using it since, and haven't done more than wipe it down.

That D2 really doesn't patina.

Yep, what they said.

I've also heard that when D2 does start to corrode, it does it by "pitting", rather than rusting, so I don't know if a patina is really possible with D2.

Try this stuff, works great on A2, I have not tried it on D2 yet... But give me a few hours and I will try it.

I have a folder in D2 that I bought used and it had a light patina on it, similar to an M4 knife that I bought used. I don't know how the patina(s) happened but it is possible.

Very unlikely you will get an natural patina on the D2 of the 24

I have been using D2 in Queen Slipjoints
Only the polished finish will patina then it takes ages to form
The satin finish blades do not patina at all
So the very rough finish of the 24 that is already grey, I cannot see it changing color

Natural patina on the main blades after much use with acidic food

As you can see tried doing a forced patina like a month ago and didn't work very well though somewhat did.
