I have a bunch of change laying around and I decided I wanna stonewash a few pocket clips for some of my spydies, can I stonewash with the pennies/quarters?

You very well might be the first one to try it out. Maybe only just do one at first and see how it comes out.
I've seen blades tumbled with spent rifle brass so I guess it could work. Be sure to post pics after you do!

I don't think it would look the same as if you used a ceramic media. I'd definitely try it though, call it a coin-wash:D

I've seen some guys doing that here with a Sebenza. It was the whole knife though, not just the clip and it was Ti.

ill try it on my spyderco tenacious (blade and clip) but ill leave out the pennies, because i dont want a bunch of brass marks on the blade, ill try it tomorrow and ill let everyone know!

using pennies, I assume you'll get some nice copper pings on it. Might turn out pretty cool.

i decided not to do the tenacious blade, but i threw in a few extre pocket clips, all of them had wear already, but its still fun nonetheless, im about halfway through.

lets play "name the pocket clip" shall we? those big scratches on the BM clip is not from the coin washing, its from alot of carry lol

i took out all the pennies i saw, but there was one left that i didnt see, if you look closely you can see the little copper marks!

You should do it again but with maybe a fifth of pennies. It does look really good. Think I may try this now :D

looks good, not grate! so you must be the first to do 'the coin wash'its a good idea, maybe i'll try it.

I am curious as to how a Ti slab would look with this finish and one with more pennies as well.

I like how these turned out, Good job bud

There was a thread over on the Chris Reeve Forum about someone doing a coin wash on a Sebenza handles. It turned out pretty nice. Might only work on Ti or soft pocket clips. Probably not hard enough to coin wash a blade. I could be wrong.
