Can I swap the blades between a Griptilian 550BKHG and a Triage 915BK?

Both are modified sheepsfoot, and very similar in size and shape. Both Axis lock. I know they are different steels, but right now for me that does not matter.

From instructions I found here, it seems simple to remove and replace the blade from an Axis lock knife.

I find the Griptilian modified sheepshead a slightly better general purpose shape (having a bit more tip), while the Triage blade is probably safer for some uses (or some people).

I'd carry the Griptilian-bladed Triage EDC, and my son, who does not carry a knife regularly, could get started with the Triage sheepsfoot blade in the Griptilian and perhaps avoid some painful pointed lessons.

The blades are slightly different thicknesses - this may be the showstopper. I don't know if the bushings / washers are different. Maybe all 3 pieces can swap over. I suppose it would void the warranty. More importantly, I don't want to ruin the knives by trying to force them to fit.

Or is there a better way to skin this cat?

The blades are not interchangeable. The geometry between the pivot post and the axis lock are quite different.

I knew when I bought the Triage I was getting a somewhat specialized knife. I think the glass breaker is nice to have in an emergency, and more often useful will be the safety hook. But having just a little bit of a point is often useful in daily use. I might look into sharpening just the first 1/8" or so of the top of the blade tip. Comments on this idea welcome.
