I won a Cybertool 41 on ebay, but when it arrived it was in such bad conditon that I don't even want to carry it. (I settled with the seller.) I just ordered a new one.

I was considering just keeping it for parts, but can I even replace parts myself if something breaks, like a blade?

send it in to vic customer service, they will probably just send a new one. You can mod them, but you have to be good at peening brass, I tried once, failed miserably.

There are several mod'ing threads available, with videos. I'll post one up if I can find it. Basically, you can take them apart, and rebuild certain models back the way you want them, but apparently some tools - like scissors - won't work on other models like the Alox types.

Here's a link, with pics:

Wow. That's a lot of work to take it apart.

Do you really think Vic would take it back or replace it?

Maybe I can trade it to one of the people who do SAK mods.

I know for a fact they would take it back, and send you a new one. Takes about 2 weeks.

I don't know... Victorinox is a good company and I wouldn't feel ethical sending a piece of crap I bought off ebay in for a replacement.
