where I live, knife laws state that spring assisted knives are not legal to carry. I received a ZT350TS as a Christmas present. I am considering trying to remove the spring assist from the knife but would like to know, has anyone done this with the ZT350?

is it easy to remove?
will knife open suitably without the spring assist? I have a 550 that does not have a spring and it seems to open fine. Maybe only a fraction of a second longer than it takes to deploy the blade on the 350.

I am not really concerned that my warranty will be void if I do this. I just want to make sure the knife will have acceptible deployment without it and find out if anyone else has done this and what their thoughts are on doing this modification.

Glad to see you like it. I enjoy it much more without the assist.

Benchmade uses a more complicated mechanism than Kershaw's torsion bar. I've never had an AO Benchmade but I've heard that they're a PITA to put back together due to many small parts.
