I don't think so.Here's what happened to me.I posted a couple pics of my comp.Leek & Thomas W didn't think it looked right. He offered to ship me a new knife.I said I'd ship it to him for an exchange.

NOW GET THIS....He said he'd ship me a new knife & to keep the one I have as a spare. Can you believe this??!!:D:thumbup::thumbup:

I've never experienced this with ANY company before.I was not looking for a free knife.I was totally expecting to exchange it,then Thomas says keep it as a spare!

I was shocked & speechless when I got the PM.All I could say was Thank You:confused::o

Thank You Thomas W. & all the people at Kershaw. You guys are a real class act!:)

welcome to the very special club. when you think about it, we have some of the best luck when it comes to knives. thomas and the guys treat us right and in return we pledge our life savings back to them :).

but in all seriousness we are a test bed for them and its such a privilege to provide feedback directly to the designers and knife makers and manufacturers and to see that feedback integrated.

Asking if Kershaw's service can get any better is like asking if an ice cold beer can be any more refreshing on a hot day. :)

They replaced a broken tip on one of my knifes, and even swapped the combo blade for a plain edge upon my request. Cost me $4 to send it to them, not a dime more. Thats all the service I needed to buy $1000 of their product over my next few purchases.

If they get into fixed blades more, they will get 100% of my business. I currently have a Bark River addiction.

They are amazing, aren't they? I don't think you would get that type of service from any other production manufacturer. Their service is like a lot of custom makers.

Put a 0100 in your hand. Your may find yourself addicted to another drug! ;)

About the only way I can see their CS improving is if they preemptively send me new knives before I buy them on the off chance that there might be something wrong with the one I hadn't bought yet.

Kershaw has the best: knives, service, forum.
They are the most innovative and unique knife company out there.
I only recommend or give KERSHAW knives to family and friends. (or anybody!)

Nothing but good CS experience for me, other companies should take note. Another well known company I won't name wouldn't even return an email for a simple pivot screw request.

In the last few days I've had a difficult decision--whether to get a tried-and-true, tough as nails Spyderco Delica as an edc, or to get Kershaw with less of a reputation (not worse, just less). I'm most likely going with Kershaw because I'm confident that if anything happens, from a defect to a design flaw to a broken tip, they'll take care of me.

Seriously... are there any other makers that will replace a blade for a broken tip like Kershaw does with the leek?

Put that Delica out of your thoughts, leave the nasty lockbacks behind, and step into the world of CB Leeks and Kershaw love. If you like Spyderco, you will love the Lahar. Its quality is up there with the $90-120 Sypdercos and it retails for about $50 that Ive seen.

benplaut, first, I'm not questioning your opinions or the quality of the Spyderco line.

As far as Kershaw goes, I have most all of their line, multiples of some, about 80 knives in total. I have worked them hard, some harder than others as we all tend to carry more frequently the ones we like best! If you have any questions as to the reliability of a particular Kershaw model, I would be more than willing to offer some real world opinions of them. I assure you that my advice will be truthful and non-biased.

As for the warranty and CS, Kershaw is one of the few that will mail you parts (except for a blade) for repairs if you wish to do it yourself. There are some other manufacturers that, while offering a great product, will void your warranty if you take the knife apart. I think the fact that Kershaw encourages you to open your knife up, tinker with it or make repairs, shows how confident they are in their products.

I own/have owned a few Spydies, BM's, CRKT's, and still have my Sebbie, and I really feel Kershaw offers the best bang for your buck today.

If you'd like further info on a particular Kershaw and how it has held up in everyday use, and it's one that I have used a lot, my offer for a completely impartial review stands!

I think the loyalty of the customers, and return business is proof there are lots of other folks that feel the same way about Kershaw.

From basic economy models where you get the most bang for the buck, to extreme cutting edge design, engineering and materials, Kershaw is making believers out of people. These are good knives, and the quality really sneaks up on people when they buy their first one. Not many can stop at just one. Joe

i have an Outcast (D-2 steel) that i reprofiled to a convex edge.. by hand.. over the course of two weeks..

I stopped at just one. ;)

now if they offered that edge grind.. for a FEE.. or coating removal, FOR A FEE.. (dear LORD i hate blade coatings) .. their customer service for THIS customer would be improved.

but by any ordinary manufacturers standard Kershaw goes above and beyond, every chance they get.. I am totally pleased to recommend them, buy them, and hoard them as bargains worth accumulating..

i called customer service on a warped blade, and got delivery of the NEW knife before i sent them back the OLD knife.. (which i didn't want to keep and they deserved to see) .. and an apology which had the ring of sincerity to it. They would rather invest in their customers than save a buck? OK, then I'd rather invest in THEM than save a buck, fair is fair.

No I don't know another manufacturer with better customer service, and that includes some of my fave companies. I do think they'd be well served to offer uncoated blades and convex grinds, if it had to be an in-house custom shop doing it.

Just another Kershaw Disciple here, who can only echo what others have stated. Knives are tools, and I buy tools to use, and sometimes use hard. When it comes to quality, performance, and customer service, Kershaw is unsurpassed; I would pay at least double what I'm paying now. Kershaw's products are just that good. NOTE: We like the prices the way they are now Thomas! :D

I really dig coming here to a forum where people like Thomas, Ken, and Tim ask for our input on current products, or ask us what we would like to see Kershaw produce in the future. That's just Cool! When was the last time any of us were contacted by say GM to see what kind of car we want built? On that note, I wish that Kershaw would put the Random Task back in the line up, at least in a limited edition boutique run. Uh oh, Random Task on the brain, must go now, concentration diminshing...

Why am I here? Oh yeah, Kershaw rules! Kershaw, keep up the good work, we'll keep spreading the word, and converting others to our side.
