Can Mnandi be opened one-handed?

I know it lacks thumbstuds, but those fingernail grooves look pretty substantial. I was able to open a long-gone LST one handed with reasonable confidence. Has anybody been regularly opening this knife one-handed? Just curious if it's practical or too difficult.

Some people do have trouble with one handed opening, but the knick works just fine for me.

no problem at all. SUPER easy, and will not snag on pockets. i really like the way the 'nail nick' works. very nice

Thanks for the replies! One-handed opening is not an obvious feature of the Mnandi, but an important one IMO. I appreciate the information. It sure is a beautiful knife. And I really like the appearance of the grooves vs. a stud, disk or hole.

It opens "O.K." with one hand. It's a small knife, so the "nail nick", which is really more of a "thumbad" is a little awkward. It is a little harder to open than an Umfaan which has miniscule thumbstuds.

The size of the knife makes it a little awkward to open and close one handed but I can do it with no problems really. The nail nick works fine as a thumb stud.:)
