Can Moderators see which "Invisible" members are browsing in each thread?

I don't believe so, PG.

I was briefly a Mod on another forum and thought we could view who was online in any thread (from what I can remember). Can that feature be turned off? It seems like a feature like that shouldn't have a place on BF. Only ner-do-wells and their ilk would benefit, it seems. ;)

Or can it be disabled in certain "un-named" sub-forums?

I believe Spark is the only one that can advise as to the capability of the software in that regard.

Seems to me with this post you might think it could be an issue?

Hello,

YES, invisible members are visible to moderators and administrators on vBulletin software. I have been an admin on a certain gun board for years, and in the past a moderator on other VB boards.

Usually the member's name is italicized.

The above is all valid only if the head admin has not changed the settings. I give my moderators admin power for the most part. I find it keeps things simple. On the other hand, some admins radically limit the powers moderators have, and there may be a setting or a hack I do not know about that prevents staff members from seeing invisible members.

I hope this helps. Just stumbled across the question while blindly looking for advertising and/or membership information.

Regards,

Josh Smith

Josh, I just forwarded you the requested information via email.

I think we've pretty much touched on and covered what needs to be addressed insofar as these particular forums are concerned as to "visibility".
Spark can make any changes he deems necessary going forward.
