I'm interested in picking up some damascus, preferably stainless, in rod format. Would be around 3/16" to 1/4" thick and about 6" long (or two 2.5-3" pieces). Does anyone know if a source for this exists? Or would I just be best off getting square bar and shaping it down?
I'd be OK with Thunderforge or any kind of potentially fine-grain pattern-weld if heat-bluing looks good on it.
Since I'm looking for a relatively small quantity I'm wondering if anyone knows of specific sources I could talk to without having to buy a certain minimum?
