Can somebody please tell me what this is???

I found some sort of axe along the roadway one day and I can't find anyone who knows what it is. It's about 2 1/2 feet long in total. The head is U shaped with a blade across it. The head is made identical to a bow saw(but with a cold steel blade that is about 2 inches wide). Can someone PLEASE help me with this?????????:confused:
 
They are a brush cutting implement. The blades are replaceable. I think that they used to be available through the gardening catalog at www.leevalley.com and perhaps also from Bailey's (the logging equipment supply company). www.bbaileys.com

They are pretty efficient on branches under a couple inches thickness.
