Something for EDC? No double edge, preferably something with a kydex sheath, that could be used as a neck knife or put on the belt. I would say 3 1/2 inch blade max.

Quite specific I know, and I am looking around on my own, but I would like to get some opinions from you guys.

Price is not a huge concern, but I am not looking for a 3 or 4 hundred dollar custom here. Keep it around or below $100 bucks if possible.

Thanks in advance.

For your consideration:

BM 220 resistro
Falkniven, various modles
BRKT, various models nice leather sheaths but you could have kydex made

Bud Nealy knives, lots of 3-4 inch blades with awesome carry options, start around 200.00 but handmade and sweeet
Shiv Works, Clinch pic/um er ah well the other one, built for sd

The short answer is there are a ton of quality options for around 100 bones. From traditional outdoor patterns to super tactical personally I think that for an EDC fb its likely you will want to get a custom sheath for most of the production models unless you can just wear the knife open on your belt.

Have fun

I highly recommend Rangers knives new little necker, not the little bird on his web site. I have one in 3V and it is an excellent knife. Justin is exceptional to deal with as well.

falkniven WM1.a livesay nrg or a D2 arclite from A G russell. all are fairly inexpensive and offer a lot for the money around $50-$60

The Benchmade 220 is an excellent choice if you like Snody's design. It works well with a Tek-Lok. Blade is 3.5 inches exactly.

Also look for a Nimravus Cub.

If you could meet somewhere in the middle on the price, I highly recommend the Dozier Straight Personal for $175. A.G. Russell's got 'em in both yellow and coral micarta. I really like mine a LOT.

All good suggestions so far. I sure second the Dozier recommendation. The Dozier Arkansas Traveller is a real nice edc size also, and the Dozier kydex horizontal belt sheath is hard to beat.
Might also want to check out options from Gene Ingram or Tom Krein, which happen to be in D2, like Doziers, as well. And then there's Winston Knives which are sweet, and then..., and then........ :D

Don't rule out a handmade knife by a relatively new knife maker. You get the ability to customise your own knife, the workmanship can be exception (depending on who you choose) and the price won't burn a hole in your pocket.

Nothing beats having a knife which is *yours*. Ask around in the knifemakers forum, someone might be able to help you out there.

Doziers are great. The BM 220 is another great choice. One not mentioned yet; Camillus CQB-2. It has a 4" blade but oal is 7.75" so it is a small knife. It comes with a multi-position kydex sheath, 154CM blade steel, black micarta grips, and a very usable blade shape. Around $120.00 at the only place I checked but probably can be had for less. Here's a pic (this one shows a combo edge)

I'll only say it once: Gene Ingram. The man can make you a serious using knife and it'll be a Nice one!

Sincerely,
Anthony

Becker Necker is worth looking at I agree. Also would email Dave Winston and ask him to make you what you want. He is a great guy and I bet you would not be disapointed with what you get. I know I never was!! :)

I think a Camillus Arclite would be a good place to start. They can be had for $20.00 :D

Don't know why I didn't mention this one, but I just received a Larry Chew boot knife that would fill your need and almost your specs. Blade length is 3.75" with oal at 7.75" Perfect for neck, waist, boot, or iwb carry. Check out www.robertsoncustomcutlery.com for one.
