Sad, sad, how sad I am. Sorry, maybe I've had a bad day.
I came home early today, Thursday, and there is a UPS notice on my door,
about how my Bill Moran can't be delivered unless I am personally there
to sign for it, between 9:30 and 5 some weekday.
Well I _work_ and therefore I am not at home between 9:30 and 5 on
weekdays! I called the 800 number and they said that unless I could
convince some neighbor to sign for it, there was nothing else they could
do.
She finally said she would have the local delivery office call me. Which
worked pretty well, they called and said if I hurried I could drive
across town and pick it up. So, four days after I ordered the knife "2nd
day air", my only chance to actually get the knife is to "hurry" across
town in rush hour traffic, and pick it up myself.
Oh well, for one of these beautiful, mirror polished Bill Moran's, with
that lovely curved convex edge...ahhh, it would be worth it. And since
the Web page described it as one of these, but also with a Kydex sheath,
I thought maybe it could be one of the _real_ old ones, _before_ the
leather sheath! Maybe with a number on it, since the price was $90!?!
The door was locked when I got there, but by wandering into the open
garage door looking as friendly and harmless as I could, I was able to
pick up my package! Whoopee! I thought about waiting until I got home to
open it, but switched over to deciding what tool to use on it _right
now_. Savaging the outer package with my Stryker, there was the Spyderco
box, bulging nicely! Opening it revealed a nifty looking Kydex sheath,
and my new.......uh, what's wrong with the finish......oh, it's okay, I
thought far a second.......hey, look at the edge......this isn't
.....Ohhh Noooo.....it's _not_ one of the mirror polished ones with the
convex edge....it's a...satin finished one with a....plain edge.....
Sad, sad, how sad I am. Sorry, maybe I've had a bad day.
So, dear Spyderco folks, I need to return this knife, and have you
credit my VISA card. I guess I have to ship it to you. If you could find
it in your hearts to refund some of the two shipping charges, I would
greatly appreciate it, since it is clearly described on the Web page as
a mirror polished one with the Bill Moran edge, and was a pain in the
butt to receive as well.
Thank you! No hard feelings, just sad.
