These two knives seem very similar to me. I own the Perrin but not a Gryphon M10 in full flat grind. Can someone who owns or has owned both compare/contrast these two knives and how they differ for daily carry and cutting chores. They are both marketed as self-defense type knives which I understand but I've also found the Perrin to excel and daily cutting chores. I'm wondering if the new M10 with the full flat grind would also fall well into that roll too and also be a little more compact for carry. On the other hand, is the 3/16" thick 4" M10 FFG blade really too thick to excel in daily cutting chores and err on the side of stoutness for self-defense use relative to the Perrin. Thanks!

well you can use the Perrin in the kitchen easier than the Gryphon, and the slightly thinner stock (.16" vs .187") makes for a slightly better slicer. If you like the street bowie but want something smaller why not look at the Street Beat lightweight? http://www.bladehq.com/item--Spyderco-Perrin-Street-Beat--30255. I had the Street Bowie which I loved but sold when I needed $$ bad. I had the Camillus version of the Gryphon long ago, but it was not FFG, it was definitely not as good of a slicer but you could hammer it through a board without fear . . .
