Hi guys, can some experts on the Mnandis help out and identify the inlay and type of damascus on this one? I have yet to receive a clearer photo.

Thanks!

Looks like bloodwood

Thanks guys! Hopefully he prices it well. Unfortunately it does not have the birth card or the box.. but it looks good....

For sure not snakewood, does the seller not have the bday card? I would be very wary...especially if they don't want to send clear pictures!

Photo is not clear because I just screen captured the video. He will be sending me photos soon. Unfortunately it does not have the birth card or the box.

I am not sure if it's okay to ask here, but what would be a fair price for this piece? I am not familiar with Mnandis. And I know the Bubble wrap dammy is a bit rare...

If is always hard to fix a fair value.
Bloodwood is not usual so bubblewrap so we can say 600/700$ maybe 800$
But without box and inside paper and tool we can go down in a range of 500/600

Oh but if the BC is missing we loose another 100/150$
I would not pay this more than 400/500$

That's what I think, now I am curious to read what you think

I'm not real familiar with bloodwood, but to me it looks like it could be a "tamer" snakewood. Of course clearer pics would help.

Definitely bubblewrap and most likely bloodwood. Bubblewrap is one of my favorite patterns, looks really great in person.

Thanks for confirming buddy! It does look good even on the low res video. So I am sure it'll look good in person too... :)

I am going to go against the grain (pun intended) and say that this is snakewood. After closely looking at the pics there are several darker "dots" in the grain which leads me to believe it is snakewood. If it is determined to be bloodwood I would not be surprised, though. I agree with the other posts about the damascus. For collectors, we all know what the absence of the box and bc do to the price.

I've read in another thread that snakewood can bleach (?) during the time but this seems too red

Never heard of bubble wrap Damascus! As stated previously, love learning new things everyday! Thanks BF
