hey all,

this is my father in laws knife, and we are wondering what it is. it looks like a benchmade nimravus, but it has much older markings. the benchmade butterfly says "Bali-song" in it, instead of "Benchmade." also, it shows it as a "First Production Run." pics below....

could this be pre-nimravus????

thanks!

Yup, it's the Nimravus. The first production run wording, and "1 of 1000" means this is one of the first 1000 knives produced using that pattern.

Benchmade specialized in Balisongs early on, so that was part of their logo.

Once again, nary a day goes by that you don't learn something on this forum.

The Nimravus is Benchmades first fixed blade. I really like the '06 models. They also come in a much improved sheath.

Negative. Benchmade made many fixed blades prior to the Nimravus. Most were under the Pacific Cutlery name. One that stands out is the PC Fer De Lance. As Benchmade one of the best fixed blades they had earlier on was the Delta Raider.
