Can someone help me select a folder with very specific characteristics?

Hello all. I'm having serious trouble finding a back-up folder. Right now my EDC is a Spyderco Endura4 FFG in brown. But I also want to carry a back up blade in my left pocket. I want a cheap blade. Aus8 steel is fine, maybe even 440C.

Requirements:

**Blade 2-2.49 inches. Needs to be in that area so it can be legally taken into federal buildings.
**Must be either a liner lock, frame lock, or lock-back.
**No assisted opening.
**This is the kicker. I need the pocket clip to be reversible. I need it set up for tip-up left pocket carry.
**$30 bucks or less.

I like the idea of carrying a blade in each pocket, and I'd like a small blade on my weak side. And I don't want to carry a more expensive knife on my weak side. I'm tempted to just bite the bullet and buy a Delica4...but I tend to lose stuff and would prefer to lose a cheaper knife. I'd really like something like a Boker Subcom but with a reversible pocket clip.

Thanks!

Except for the blade that's 2.55" and it's axis lock, I recommend sanrenmu GB-763. Review I found matching with what I have experienced : http://forum.multitool.org/index.php?PHPSESSID=978911955b5175b970306fac5419de09&topic=22232.0

2.55" is .05" too long, hehe. Also the Axis lock is a no-go in some jurisdictions I might be traveling to. Thanks for the recommendation though, cool looking blade.

Try out a Byrd Robin.
2.5 inch blade.
Clip is changable to tip up/down for left and right handers.
The steel is said to perform similar to Aus8.
And it's well under the price point you indicate.

I have a couple and they serve me well.

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at pictures of them and they don't seem capable of tip up left pocket carry.

Edit: Looking at it again, looks like I'm just stupid. lol.

I wonder if a 2.5 inch blade is legal in federal buildings, or if it has to be UNDER 2.5 inches.

I'm left handed and prefer tip up so yes it certainly can be configured that way.
I just measured mine out of curiosity and it is a tad shorter than 2.5. By about 1/16th of an inch.
As for if it's good in a federal building, well I have no idea.

Yeah, sorry, I screwed that up. I was looking at the G10 version and not the FRN version. The G10 version is not 4 position adjustable, but still can be adjusted to lefy tip up carry, I just didn't notice at first. Looks like this is going to be my winner, especially at the $15 price point from yourcornerstore.com. I can have spares.

Thanks again!

You cannot take any knives through the security checkpoints at federal buildings.

If you like Spyderco and want a cheap folder look into the Byrd Meadowlark.

I have a G10 and 3 of the FRN. Not sure if it's just my example but the G10 is a little stiff and the FRN versions are nice and smooth.
Just thought I'd mention that.

Not all federal buildings have security checkpoints. For instance, the US Post Offices are federal buildings....
