If someone runs out of storage space on BFC can they pay more to get some more space? I know I can upgrade from Gold to Platinum and get 5MB space(thats the amount listed on the upgrade page) . But can some one just pay extra and get more space?

Couldn't find this in the FAQ's or by searching. I'm thinking about upgrading to Platinum when I have more spare cash and think it would be cool if I could pay some extra amount to get some more space. Thanks,

Heber

Spark, is there any way that could work? Of course there are other photo hosts on the net, but I bet a lot of members would much rather pay Bladeforums a few extra bucks than have to figure out how to use another host.

Besides, even if you know how using another host is a hassle. Uploading directly to the Bladeforums servers is the kewl way to do it.

Cougar, I have a web site though my brother which gives me almost unlimited space for photos.... But you are right, uploading and supporting Bladeforums is nice. :)

What's even better is just buying a platinum and not storing anything at all on our servers.

Basically, there isn't a way for more storage space. I'm leery of getting in the photo hosting business for people.

If I was Spark, I also wouldn't do it. Photo hosting sites are a completely different entity and have the resources to manage Petabytes. (1024 Terabytes (which is 1024 Gigabytes)).

The internet is visually a two-dimensional experience . In order to participate photos are vital. Figuring out how to join and manage photos from another site is easy. (How many different software programs can a person figure out? One can't do it all.)

I pay $24 per year for (4) Gigabytes of photo storage (www.fototime.com). Many other features.

I am going to time myself right now from completely unopened site to posting a photo in this thread from my outside source. And then I am going to do the same thing with Spark's software (and hopefully my filesize will be sufficiently small (under 150kb?) so I won't get the boot. Ahhhh, the qualifier....)

Ready, set GO:

OK. 35 seconds.

Let me try to load the same photo from my hard drive, using the BF software, AND insert it in the post:

attachment.php

95 seconds. About a minute before I edited it into the post itself. Notice the forum software downsized it to stay within the limits. (I'm impressed with that. It was 223kb, and now it's 123kb)

My point to the exercise is to show that convenience is not a completely valid argument. Once you figure out another site, it is actually easier, and it allows for larger photos and other features.
