Can someone please help me identify this knife?

When I was a kid (Jr. High and High School age) I collected knives. There was a great knife shop in town that had nice stuff. I bought and sold and traded with them a LOT. There was one knife in particular that I bought that I really miss and would love to find another one of. The problem is, I can't remember the brand name. Here's what I do remember...

The shop owner told me the company had gone out of business. This would have been in the late 80's. The knife had a stainless colored blade that went all the way through the handle. The handle was a black laminated wood. He called it a fighting knife. The size and shape looked very much like a Zero Tolerance 0100 but I seem to remember the blade being shallower, although not by a lot.

Does anyone have any idea what this knife could have been? I THINK the brand started with an 'M' and the logo was a butterfly but I'm not sure about those details.

Did it look like this?

Has rather a large capital M, as well.

Again, no. It was not a Benchmade. When I bought the knife, the company had already gone out of business. Last I heard, Benchmade was still around.

Here is a photo (shamelessly borrowed from "the Internet") showing a Pacific Cutlery knife with their butterfly logo:
