I think the title says it all. I just purchased this knife and I was told that it is a HH FSH after reading this forum I think it may be a FSH but not a HH?
The blade is 8 1/2 inches long x 1 7/8 inches x .25 inches thick.
Thanks, Mike

Here's a comparison shot courtesy of greens from an exchange sale recently...

My GUESS would be an HH

Are you certain about the thickness measurement? The saber grind matches the Heavy Hearts, but I beileve that the HH's are supposed to be .270 thick.

Joules, I do not have the knife in hand yet. I was told that it is .250 thick at this point that is alll I have to go on.
Thanks, You guys are fast!!!

I agree with 360 as far as the saber grind goes. As far as the thickness, it seems to fit within the spectrum of measurement variation I've seen the Hogs give on different designs. It seems that the difference in thickness is largely due to the coating. My $.02, Good Luck!

Another vote for that being a HH. Saber height and logo location says so to me as well.

From the grind it is a Heavy Heart. I know the HH is supposed to be .270 but the ones that I have all come out to about .250"......

It is a Heavy Heart and all the Heavy's I have seen have been 0.25 with the Std models being thinner.

So, what you're saying...and correct me if I'm wrong...is that you still don't have an updated picture of your SHBM collection.

Hey all... back from my trip!

Anyway, looks like my HH from grind & logo placement... but my HH is one of the 0.27 in. thick blades.

Well I got the HH from Greens and have it here in my hand. It is definitely thicker than .25, but it is hard to tell exactly how thick given that I am just eye-balling it with a ruler. Still, definitely thicker than .25, although this could be from the coating, at least in part.

To me, the knife looks like a FSH, or the one in the top photo courtesy oof Greens. First, the logo seems to be placed a little farther forward on the FSH than the HH. Look carefully at that pic of the knife you just got again. Logo placement, IMO, seems to match the FSH better than the HH.

Also, compare the vertical grind lines of the knives just above the choil. On the HH, the grind line seems to curve forward as you move from the bottom upward. On the FSH, it seems to be much more vertical in appearance with no forward movement -- this appears to match the purchased knife also.

So that is my .02. Now, somebody please correct my NOOBINESS!:D

Unless there are FSH with Sabre Grinds, this is a HH.

My HH measured .272

Great looking blade!

what SHBM collection that pic was photoshopped from someone elses collection. I only have a user.

They are free ranging somewhere in his yard.:D

That was all a lie as well, I have never done that, it was just a little fun story.

All of the Standard FSH's were saber ground as far as I recall. I spoke to The Janitor during the FSH ordering period and he said the Standard and HOG grade FSH has the same primary grind angle and the Standard was a sabre because it "runs out of steel" before the HOG does. The additional thickness of the HH makes the sabre run just a little higher than on the standard....and the HOG full height.

I know this has come up before, but I have double and triple checked, and compared it to some of my other knives that I know are flat or saber ground and my FSH has a full convex grind- am I the only one?

From what I can see from the pictures, yours looks like a HH to me.

Try flipping it over and peeking at it's backside. If it has balls, it's a HH.
