Can someone tell me what might be happening here?

Knife wont stay on track except maybe 1/100 times. Made sure there was no debris inside and was clean. Not sure if the spring, it feels snappy when it works or perhaps the detents(sp) dont seem to be catching the blade or falling in place as they should.
Wondering if this can be saved since I lost the warranty card like a moron.

Apologies if this is the incorrect or if there is a better place to post this question. Feel free to delete if so

Hard to tell from your vid, but it serms like thd spring is not being properly loaded when retracting.
Is the slide button that loafs the spring obstructed? Does the extension spring form enough tension to push the blade out properly?
These are guesses, dont know much about auto's.
To me they are very cool but , they always felt like a battery operated, clockwork coffee mug, that wants to give me a vascectomy.

Maybe ask here in the switchblade sub-forum- https://www.bladeforums.com/forums/automatic-knife-switchblades.688/

Cobratech autos, and that model in particular, are on the low-end price-wise. With autos, quality and price tend to go hand in hand. A Microtech OTF costs several hundreds of dollars, and even those can have issues. So I'm not surprised that a Cobratech with a price of around $100 might develop issues.

Where are my manners? Welcome, that should have come first.

Autos aren’t really my thing, they’re illegal to carry here, and I’m kinda a traditional and handmade guy anyway. When I stay up past my bedtime, I get a little smartass. Sorry about that.

There are lots of possibilities. I'm not familiar with that particular knife's internal mechanism so I can't say for certain, but some things to check:

Weak retraction spring; Sticky lubrication... Are you using oil or grease? The latching mechanism may not be functioning properly if it is sticky; There could also be a clearance issue with movement of the latch or spring. Check inside where they move and look for rub marks, burrs or scratches in the channel where they slide/move. The blade appears to be moving freely or I'd advise checking that too. The fact that it's not extending properly after retracting tells me that you probably have a problem somewhere in the spring/latch mechanism. Any of those issues could be causing it. No way to tell which without in-hand investigation.

You didn’t buy a Buck 110. There’s your trouble.

LOL! I was going to say because he didn't buy a Sebenza but I like your reply better.

That knife should probably go back to the manufacturer for some repair work.

Cobratec knives are $20 Chinese knives that they sell for $100.
Send it back to them. At that markup, the can afford to send you 3 or 3 more.

Welcome to B.F.
Possibly a moderator will move this to an OTF page for you.

What I see in your video is fairly common situ for inexpensive OTF's. Typically a situ that is correctable once you expose the specifics of the issue.

I see a screwdriver kit in the background. I would suggest you do a disassembly inspection as best way to "tell me what might be happening here".

Hope you post back into thread after opening it up for inspection.
