Hey guys, I bought a box of cut offs from a knife supplies store. I can use several pieces but I’m not sure what species of wood they are. Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried contacting the supplier? They look like maple, birch, or poplar to me. How dense are they (if not stabilized.)?

I ordered them from USA Knifemaker, and they were advertised as cutoffs and the species could vary, but I figured I could use some of them. The two blocks and a couple of the scales feel very dense.

The dyed pink, purplish and turquoise ones l'd say are the box elder. The block second in on the upper left maybe buckeye burl also the center scale middle row buckeye too I'm thinking. I've used a lot of both the dyed box elder and buckeye and they sure make a nice handle.
